Terror has come to the town of Dolven. A mercenary arrives in a small village. Monsters roam unchecked beyond the walls. Many have been lost. A girl has been taken. A kingdom was foretold. An ancient history lies forgotten.

An Excerpt from Dolven: Darkstrand

He looked down at his young page and then knelt before him.

“Eyes on mine. Watch my mouth. Listen and remember.”

The boy, not yet twelve years old, nodded and fixed his eyes upon the bloodied and exhausted warrior.
There is a secret wrapped in secrets in the lands of Darkstrand. And this is the first secret.

The second secret is that the first was lost long ago.

The third is that the Stewards of Darkstrand know, and they wield the folly of the second secret as authority over the people and the neighbouring lands. This is the true source of their power: a falsehood. This alone makes them more powerful than even the dark magics they wield.

The fourth follows from the last, and that is if the Blacktree Door was opened then Darkstrand would fall.

The final secret is that you now know this. You have the power to fell this nation. “I’m so sorry.”
